We gather information from public sources and transport companies' websites, but we are not an official transport operator. For the most up-to-date information, always check with the transport company directly.

Tickets and Payment
How do I buy a ticket?
Most tickets are easiest to buy in the companies' apps (Vy, Ruter, Skyss, AtB) or on their websites. You can also use Entur.no to compare options.
What happens if I travel without a valid ticket?
You risk a fine of 1150-1500 NOK depending on the transport company. The ticket must be purchased and activated BEFORE you board.
Can I get a refund on my ticket?
It depends on the ticket type. Flex tickets can often be changed/refunded, while Minipris usually cannot. Check the terms when purchasing.
Are there tourist tickets?
Yes, several cities offer day passes or tourist cards. Oslo Pass and Bergen Card include public transport plus attractions.
Bus Travel
How much luggage can I bring on the bus?
Most long-distance buses allow 1 hand luggage + 2 pieces of luggage included in the price. Check with the operator for exact rules.
Do buses have WiFi?
Most long-distance buses (VY Buss, NOR-WAY, FlixBus) have free WiFi. Local buses usually do not.
Can I bring a bicycle on the bus?
Some buses take bicycles for an additional fee. It usually needs to be booked in advance. Not all routes offer this.
Train Travel
Do I need to reserve a seat on the train?
On most regional trains, seat reservation is optional but included in Minipris. On long-distance trains, reservation is recommended, especially on weekends and holidays.
Can I bring pets on the train?
Yes, most trains allow dogs and cats. Smaller animals in cages can be brought for free. Larger dogs need their own ticket.
Are there night trains in Norway?
Yes, Vy runs night trains on several routes with sleeping cars and seating cars. Sleeping compartments must be booked in advance.

Is public transport accessible for wheelchair users?
Most new trains and buses are universally designed. Older vehicles may have limitations. Contact the transport company in advance for assistance.
